Will Missouri be the next Constitutional carry state?

The  Missouri House has sent SB 656 to Gov. Jay Nixon to sign which would make Missouri the 11th state in the US to have permitless concealed carry. Gov. Nixon has a history of vetoing pro gun legislation only to see the legislature overturn the veto.

If SB 656 is signed into law Missouri will keep their current permit system in place but this bill would make the change that all law-abiding citizens who are legally allowed to own and carry a firearm for self-defense can without obtaining a concealed carry permit.

Eight hours of training, a background check and $100 fee were previously the requirements to obtain a concealed carry permit.

Currently the following states have constitutional carry statues: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.
