If you are new to the gun community, I’m going to shed some light on what SHOT Show is and try to explain it to ya quickly. SHOT stands for Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show. SHOT Show is owned and sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and happens once a year, typically in January. Getting into SHOT Show is not as easy as it seems. Unfortunately, access is only granted to shooting, hunting and outdoor trade and commercial buyers and sellers of military, law enforcement and tactical products and services only, and select media including Magazine publications, Internet publications, and many YouTuber’s that bring awareness to the industry.
SHOT Show has been around since 1979, starting in St. Louis, MO. 2017 marks the 39th year of the show and Las Vegas, NV being the host city since 2010. SHOT Show brings out all the new and coolest products from over 1,600 vendors. Typically, new firearms are introduced/announced at SHOT Show. Second to SHOT Show is the NRA Show that usually occurs in April each year. There will be over 2,400 members of the media covering the show, including us. Last year, SHOT Show drew over 64,000 shooters, law enforcement, outdoors and hunting enthusiasts to view over almost 12.5 miles of products.
New products are the main reason for the show, but SHOT Show boasts other events to include: Seminars, Celebrity Speakers, and A State of the Industry Dinner. This years SHOT Show will be from January 16-21, 2017 and bringing people from all 50 States and 100 Countries from around the world. Unfortunately, Epic Tactical did not get the invite to the Range Day that occurs on the 16th, but next year is going to be a different story! Range Day is exactly what it sounds like, media and distributors/buyers can preview/test out the new firearms that will be out on the market this coming year from all major manufacturers. So we’ll be covering the show from the 17-21. We will be bringing you loads of information from the show and you can expect a lot from us.
