As many of you know my husband and I are both retired law enforcement. Recently we were invited to attend a 3 day training class at Mission Critical TX in Gatesville, TX. Known as the Rogers Range, its a reactive shooting School that works on speed and accuracy through a computer driven reactive target system that was once reserved for the top 1% of our Special Forces Operators.
This training was phenomenal and the Rogers Range was developed by Bill Rogers over 40 years ago. A retired FBI Agent who put together a reactive shooting system that works with all skill levels to rapidly improve one skills and works on the fundamentals of shooting to quickly help a shooter become successful in placing rounds accurately on target, in any defensive handgun engagement.
The great thing about Rogers Range TX (www.rogersrangetx.com) is that these classes are now open to citizens in good standing, and law enforcement. This class will teach you how to shave reaction
time from the holster, to finding your front sight on target, squeezing the trigger, and hitting your target. I recommend this class to anyone who can legally carry a firearm and great for those involved on church security teams.
All the instructors were very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and worked with each student. My favorite of the instructors was Billy Lumpkin who is a retired Navy Seal and still works as a close combat and shooting instructor for the Seal Teams on the West and East Coasts.
The male and female students in our class consisted of competition shooters, civilian, Law Enforcement, Former Marine. I believe we received some of the best training in the country and to top it all off we had the opportunity to learn and receive training from Billy. This was a humbling experience and no matter how good and proficient you think you are, I challenge you to take a class at Rogers Range, you will not be disappointed.
You need to check out the Mission Critical-Rogers Range TX located on a 2300 acre ranch in central Texas. Outside of their Rogers Range, they are a full training center with Carbine/Pistol classes, Long Range, CQB/CQC and more. There is no other place in the Midwest to get this kind of training. One thing to remember is you will not rise to the occasion, you only rise to the level of your training.
