PowerTac USA has been around for quite awhile but not many people know about this flashlight company. I am actually kind of partial to this company being as it’s based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. I have seen PowerTac at the local gun shows for about 2-3 years now and I finally made the plunge and purchased one of their E9 Flashlights in 2015. I carry this flashlight as an EDC light and when I’m on the ambulance. I have talked with a lot of their representatives at the local gun shows and their products seems a little on the expensive side, but not that expensive compared to other manufacturers. My local gun shop started carrying PowerTac USA flashlights and they couldn’t keep them stocked fast enough. From their EDC lights/Weapon Mounted Lights to their big power-horse, the X10000 Destroyer. Their LED’s are great and their aircraft-grade aluminum housings are built to last. The Destroyer Flashlight features 10,500 lumens that throws light up to distances of 675 meters (738yds). That is insane! I did notice that their aluminum bodies do heat up with use, so be careful when using these lights.
One of the major features I like about these lights is that they are waterproof. One of their demonstration points at the local gun shows is one of their flashlights submerged in water and in strobe-mode. I have accidentally washed my flashlight in my EMS pants and I pulled it out of the drier, turned it on, and it worked flawlessly. Another feature I like about PowerTac USA lights is 95% of their lights offer a strobe feature. I really like this feature because it can be used as a non-lethal weapon.
