With the finish of the most crucial election in the United States modern history, it all boiled down to US the voters! We as voters went out and truly made a difference. This election has surely had its ups and downs, its scandals, investigations, accusations, and the list goes on and on and on. But…WE have spoken! And we have elected Donald John Trump as President of the United States of America! Now more than ever, we need to continue to pray that these elected officials will take us in the direction that we need to prosper!
Win or Lose. It’s how you go forward that makes you who you are, be it you are positive or negative. But remember, it’s your character/maturity that you are showing to people. Keep that in mind folks. Don’t be that person who boasts and belittles everyone. Be the mature people that I know we can be!
I was up watching the news coverage from different sources and it was wild how some media outlets were so different in the Electoral College Numbers during the entire night. It was interesting and slightly confusing. I was talking with my father while watching the count, and he was telling me back about 20+ years ago, the media would “call” the election around 10pm and we didn’t have the Finale until 0240EST when Hillary Clinton conceded via phone-call.
Now, I wonder what happened in this election. What happened to the “landslide” victory that was supposed to happen based on the polls? It was interesting to see how polls can be construed and manipulated. I guess it’s hard to find an outlet that tells the truth and nothing but the truth. I just want to see true journalism again. I want to see facts, and not “ratings.” In the next few days, I’m sure that a lot of re-counts will be done, just to be sure that the winner was truly the winner.
With this change that is about to happen for our great nation, I hope that we can prosper and move forward as a country and conquer all the evils that will be before us. It was a clear message that Washington is broken, and WE want it cleaned up and changed. It was clear that we wanted protection for our borders, more money in our pockets and not into the pockets of big corporations. We wanted change that was supposed to happen years ago, and it never happened. Over the next 4 years, it’s going to be tough to try and make every one happy. With the issues of Race, Immigration, Security, Economics, Health Care, Foreign Policy and many other issues at the forefront that have divided us as a nation, we’re going to have to work together and prosper. I hope and pray that President-Elect Trump will unite us so we do not fail each other and fail as a nation.
